Bridgestone play part in Sport Relief
Bahrain - Ferrari Pit(June 14th, 2004) Bridgestone played a part in raising funds for the BBC's Sport Relief charity after joining forces with their four Formula One teams to help raise money at the British Grand Prix. The Japanese company pulled out the stops to create a red Formula One tyre – to support the campaign's ‘one red sock' trademark – which was used during a special event at Jordan Ford's headquarters as well as during the pit-stop practices on Sunday morning at Silverstone.
Schumacher and Ferrari continue mastery at Silverstone
Ferrari in Barcelona(July 13th, 2004) Michael Schumacher and Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro continued their mastery as the championship leader scored his 10th win of the season with another remarkable tactical display to take victory in the British Grand Prix at Silverstone. Schumacher, who has now won 10 of the 11 races this season, opted for a two-stop strategy – seven days after he switched to a four-stop race to win in France – to outwit the opposition as he moved onto 100 points for the campaign with his 80th career win.
Perfect ten for Bridgestone and Ferrari
European GP - Ferrari(July 11th, 2004) Michael Schumacher claimed his tenth win of the season on his Bridgestone Potenza Formula One tyres today, giving the World Champion his 80th career win and a 26 point lead in the drivers' standings. It was by no means a foregone conclusion, however, and it took some stunning driving by the maestro to buy enough time to come out of his pitstop ahead of poleman and initial race leader Kimi Raikkonen. Rubens Barrichello too, had to fight for his third place podium and is now the only driver to have finish on the podium in all Grands Prix so far this season - an incredible achievement.

Rubens Barrichello, Ferarri(July 10th, 2004) 2003 British Grand Prix winner Rubens Barrichello put in a storming performance in this afternoon's qualifying session to put himself on the front row for tomorrow's race alongside Kimi Raikkonen. Equipped with his Bridgestone Potenza Formula One tyres, the Brazilian is now poised to challenge for a consecutive British GP victory. However, teammate Michael Schumacher will be breathing down his neck having qualified fourth on the grid after one of the most unusual qualifying sessions of the year which saw many of the front runners posting particularly slow times in pre-qualifying, in an effort to second guess the British weather. Sauber Petronas' Felipe Massa, meanwhile, will line up eleventh on the grid and is expected to be a strong contender in tomorrow's race - as is his teammate Giancarlo Fisichella, despite having to start from the back of the grid.
Bridgestone teams 'Go the Extra Mile' for Sport Relief
(July 10th, 2004) Bridgestone has teamed up with its four Formula One teams this week to 'Go the Extra Mile' for Sport Relief and to mark the occasion, they will be sporting a single Limited Edition red Bridgestone Potenza Formula One tyre during tomorrow morning's pit stop practices ahead of the British Grand Prix. The four Bridgestone equipped teams: Scuderia Ferrari, Sauber Petronas, Jordan Ford and Wilux Minardi Cosworth; have each given their support to the Sport Relief campaign, the biennial fundraising event set up by Comic Relief to use the power and passion of sport to tackle poverty and disadvantage, both in the UK and in some of the world's poorest countries. Between them, the teams are donating numerous items of signed F1 team memorabilia which will be auctioned in aid of Sport Relief. Earlier this week, Jordan Ford and Bridgestone teamed up to give the winners of the Sport Relief Pit Stop Challenge Competition a day they won't forget.
Bridgestone runners set for British GP
Sauber at Magny Cours(July 9th, 2004) Bridgestone Motorsport's four teams: Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro, Sauber Petronas, Jordan Ford and Wilux Minardi Cosworth; have been hard at work on day one of the British Grand Prix. Despite weather forecasts to the contrary, the teams enjoyed two, dry one-hour sessions and spent this time evaluating their two tyre choices and setting their cars up for the forthcoming Grand Prix.

(July 8th, 2004) Bridgestone's brand new motorhome has stood tall and proud in the Formula One paddock since its debut at the San Marino Grand Prix. The temporary home, specifically designed and tailored to the World Champion tyre supplier's specific requirements, allows the Bridgestone staff to work efficiently – from Director of Motorsport Hiroshi Yasukawa to chef Vicenzo Santangelo.

French Grand Prix(July 4th, 2004) The Bridgestone Potenza equipped Ferrari drivers pulled off one of their most thrilling results of the season this afternoon at the French Grand Prix as Michael Schumacher and Rubens Barrichello took the chequered flag in first and third places respectively. Having started from second and tenth places on the grid, the pair each fought their own battles but it was the combination of Ferrari's strategies, pace and consistency from the Bridgestone tyres and great driving that gave the World Champion his ninth win from ten races and Barrichello his eighth podium of the year.

(July 2nd, 2004) Today's rain interrupted practice sessions for the forthcoming French Grand Prix at the Magny-Cours circuit resulted in dry, wet and extreme weather Bridgestone Potenza Formula One tyres being used by the teams today. However, it was Rubens Barrichello's first session dry weather time of 1:15.487 which stood as fastest overall today with teammate Michael Schumacher setting a time of 1:15.713.

Michael Schumacher - Mid-season review
malaysia-2004-2(June 23rd, 2004) Not even Michael Schumacher, the six-time World Champion, could have dreamt that he would make the kind of start he has enjoyed in the 2004 season, with the Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro driver claiming eight victories from the opening nine races. At the mid-way point of the season, Schumacher's win in the United States Grand Prix last Sunday has left him 18 points ahead of Ferrari team-mate Rubens Barrichello having scored 80 points from a possible 90. His eight successes this season, using Bridgestone's Potenza tyres, means he now has a total of 78 career victories, but Schumacher has simply enjoyed being out on track as his love affair with Formula One continues.

European GP - Sauber(June 23rd, 2004) Sauber Petronas have enjoyed much success in recent seasons and Team Principal Peter Sauber acknowledges the role Bridgestone and World Champions Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro have played in that. The Swiss-based team have been powered by Ferrari engines, which are re-branded as Petronas power-units, since 1997 and the partnership has continued to develop ever since.

US Grand Prix(June 20th, 2004) The Indianapolis Motor Speedway was buzzing with excitement this afternoon after one of the most eventful races of the year which saw Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro claim their sixth 1-2 finish of the year and Wilux Minardi Cosworth their first point of the season. The race was interrupted twice for Safety Car periods due to incidents but once racing resumed there was no stopping the Ferrari pair as they battled nose to tail at times for the race lead.
